yesterday was a messy day with choppy sea but light winds. Had to bear off SW to avoid getting back over the continental shelf and we have found the NE going Gulf Stream is about 1.5 knots but heading s to sw so what is happening to our weather?

Just before dawn today, we met with the biggest, heaviest rain storm I have ever seen. Variable and circulating winds with extremely low visibility and just like being under the fireman's hose for a couple of hours but not much fun. Now its gone and the sun shines again so we are drying out but still have virtually no wind. At least the seas were flattened by the rain somewhat.

Continue to sight shipping, mostly heading SW. Stomachs not quite normal but its still only day 3.
