A great quiet night at last and this morning we are cracking along hard on
the wind at over 6 knots in quite smooth seas and beautiful warm sunshine.
GRIB tells us to expect strong winds from later today and due to a
succession of depressions, they could be strong to very strong for the next
3 or 4 days, so Blog entries may become a little scarce! We had a proper
meal last night and are well set up for a few days of challenging but
hopefully fast sailing. The Gulf Stream continues to confuse us, with up to
2.5 knots help yesterday, we now find 1.5 knots pushing us NW! sea temps
yesterday were amazingly high, today dropped to 26 degrees. Found a flying
fish on the foredeck this morning and passed a supertanker going SW, around
0900.
Great news yesterday evening - Andy became a third time Grandpa. Kyrah gave
birth to a healthy 6 1/2 pound baby girl at 2130 BST on Saturday. Blue
eyed and as yet, un-named, we understand daughter and mother are well.
Some maintenance and repairs have been undertaken during the spell of
flatter seas and both crew managed to shave!
