Helen writes...No significant change in the weather reported from Bryan this morning. The forecast is showing average winds of 10 knots so wind speed is good, it just needs to change direction some more!
Joff has been fishing, but his one and only catch appears to have been a shark! Not sure of size of shark, but by all accounts Joff is still on the boat and all limbs attached. It is usually a disappointment when the fish isn't landed, but on this occasion it turns out to be a relief. Thankfully the boat is fairly well provisioned for the return leg, so at least catching of fish is not essential. Bryan had requested that Nik bring good supplies of McVities Ginger Nut biscuits. We got sick to death of digestives over the past few months so ginger nuts are the new must have snack food. Protein levels in the ginger nuts are way lower than the fish though, so hopefully they are supplementing their diet also...
Bryan says they saw a few passing lights in the night - the first ships they have encountered since leaving the Maldives. The direction they are heading will take them parallel with the Indian coast so I am sure they will encounter a few more over the next few nights.
It is now one week today since I returned to Dubai. Time passes quickly here. It still seems a long time till Bryan, Nik and Joff arrive back and I am sure time is passing far less quickly for them.
