Hi - just a quick Hello!
The last few days in Aswan were very pleasant - the paper work was
completed without too much hassle and we arrived at the ferry on Monday in
good time. We sailed at 6pm and gently chugged down Lake Nasser, docking
at mid-day on 12th. We left Mollie behind on a barge which we understood
was to follow in a few hours....
We are still in Wadi Halfa!! Looks like another night here - oh boy! The
temperature is around 40C all day.
The 'hotel' here is segregated!! so Stephen had to move to the men's side.
A lovely lady told me to move my bed outside along with everyone else as
it was too warm in the 'room'. I did! so slept - on and off - under the
stars! It was noisey with people, children crying, animals fighting,
motorbikes etc most of the night and didn't really cool down!! Tonight
should be quieter as the train leaves tonight for Kartoum and the ferry
back to Aswan goes this afternoon - everyone has to wait here on Tuesday
nights!!!!
We hope and pray the barge will arrive tomorrow but no-one seems sure - it
is a real test to wait here.
Cos we didn't expect this we have no clean clothes! and the phones have
gone flat! But...
I'm actually writing this from an internet cafe in this town - unbelievable!!
Thanks for your continuing support and prayers
Love
S&H
