Well, we made it! As I said, 13,924mls
later! All safe and sound.
The last part of the drive through SA was through
the Karoo and then the Hex River mountains/valley. All areas were
spectacular in different ways. We reached Cape Town on Monday but didn't
stop as the Italians weren't there. It was just lovely to reach the West
coast and sleep in our own bed!
When we woke up next morning and looked at Mollie
would you believe it - she had a flat tyre!! Another nail!
We drove back to CPT (not in Mollie) and met
up with the Italians for a meal. They
wanted to finish at The Cape of Good Hope so we
joined them for a last drive and 'celebrated' with them there! En route we
saw 2 troop of baboons, 2 ostrich families and a whale performing near Cape
Point. The scenery was fantastic and the sun made it even better.
For the first day in a long time there was no wind.
Now we are trying to wind down after all the
excitement of the journey. Mollie has to be emptied and cleaned -
again! In a few days we will start the process of trying to keep Mollie
here or arrange to ship her home. I will write again with some reflections
on our experiences.
We are so thankful for God's protection and
provision throughout. Your prayers were definitely answered - thank you
all.
Bye for now
Love
S&H
