Hello
Sunday night we had a bit of a scare when the alternator (brand new) in
Mollie went faulty. Stephen had to change it back to the original (which
he had packed as a spare) so after midnight he had it sorted! After 2hrs
sleep we were on the road and arrived in Dublin in good time for the ferry
to Holyhead.
Monday we made good headway. We enjoyed lunch with my brother and
sister-in-law at Betws-y-coed en route to London. Mollie travelled well.
Tuesday morning we were on the road early and arrived in Dover ahead of
schedule. Due to bad weather the sailing was delayed and the channel
rough but we arrived in France at the time we had originally planned!
Progress was slow due to strong winds and the hilly French terrain! The
overnight stop was in Bernay - a village south of Rouen - and our first
night in Mollie and it was ok! The bed is very comfortable and we had a
good night's sleep contrary to the sceptics' predictions!
Next day we made good progress and arrived in Les Mathes to stay with the
Treons (Natalie's in-laws) for two days R&R. Mollie has been great - we
clocked up the first 1000 miles just north of Saintes - first milestone!!
Tomorrow we are on the road again heading towards Toulouse and Montpellier.
Thank you all for you continued interest and prayers.
Until the next time...
Love S&H
