Monday - along the north coast of Libya.
We crossed the border on Saturday with remarkably little problem - had to
wait for our guide but he did turn up. He stays with us all the time
which is hard for us to get used to but it is very necessary while
travelling around here. I'm sitting on the floor underneath the bed but it
is actually comfortable enough!! We arrived in Tripoli late in the evening
- pretty shattered. Stephen is coping fantastically with the driving here
which is unlike any I have experienced to date - please pray for continued
safety as we travel.
Next day we spent at the site of the Roman ruin in Leptis Magna - amazing.
We camped out on a beach and didn't get that much sleep due to the noise
of the locals who come out after sunset to enjoy the relative cool. Also
wakened every morning at sunrise by the call to prayer.
Today we spent 9hrs driving and glad of the rest tonight.
We will share lots more detail when we get home.
Plan is to cross Egypt border on Friday DV.
Phone reception is erractic here but we are alive and well and so is
Mollie! The heat and humidity is hard to stick - reminds us of the time
we spent in Comores.
