Be
careful what you wish for -you might just get it and more !! over the last
few days we have all wished for more wind yesterday just when we were preparing
the evening meal it arrived all 37 knots of it together with rough seas --no
sleep again we just couldn't stay in bed we kept getting bounced
out
To simulate this at home lie on a bouncy
castle then get all your friends to jump on it together ...all night
long
caught another large Dorado yesterday so fish pie
for tea really hot now in the boat no hatches open too rough so like a sauna
inside and if you step outside hold on its like trying to stay on one of the
rodeo bulls at the fair ground
Morning - well what a crazy New Years eve!! Felt
like I had a crazy night out without the alcohol! We were all dressed up for
dinner and then......bam, smack, crash - the weather was here!! I was in the
middle of a gin and tonic - that went everywhere cos I just had to get on
the helm. Was awesome on the helm in my party gear. They said I looked like
Marylyn Munroe over the drain cover as my skirt was
everywhere (and it was dark so they could only see the outline of
me!). No champagne - so still need to do that. Weather still here this
morning and its roasting too. Was 'interesting' on watch last
night - the sails were down to a minimum but we were still leaning and bouncing
everywhere, massive waves and troughs, then a breaking wave came at us from the
starboard (right) side, and pushed us right over on our side. I was hiding in
the little hood that covers the hatch into the cabin as it was raining, and
the wave came over the boat so far that I had to leg it from my little hiding
place! BIG WAVES!! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Caroline x
Mother nature got something to answer to, she's got
to be a woman, totally unpredictable.
The end of 2009 was spent the same as the beginning
of 2010. "ROUGH" and not in the alcohol sense.
300 miles ish to go.
Whilst on watch last night, 12 till 4am boo hoo, a
flying fish, yep thats what i said "I flying fish", fish with
wings, suddenly lept aboard probably much to his surprise as well as ours.
No hitch hikers please not on this boat.
