Hi Everybody,

Hey guys Thank you all very much for my birthday messages and pressies :)  Good day yesterday, covered some good miles with perfect sailing conditions, should be able to make our longest day hopefully. Saw some wildlife at last, some small dolphins and thanks to russ the whale whisperer we saw a small minky whale.  Now all we have to do is catch some fish!  Ive been informed that the Azores are good for marlin fishing so its A game time to catch some big fish :P
see you all soon Adam x

everybody knows that being at sea for long periods of time does strange things to your mind    which got me thinking (very danger russ) i had never done any sailing before ian invited me on his yacht as crew now ive sailed round a good bit of the globe  so thought i wonder what ians next challenge might be then thought oh no i hope none of them ex global round the world challenger space   shuttle tings       come through the auction  i don't mind being crew on it but could be a nightmare to do the teak decking  foxy head cook and bilge pumper black pearl

Hi Pam and all  Moving along nicely and wind has continued to be helpful.  Were now heading into wind but is still comfy.  About 1/3/ along the rhum line to Porto now.  Expecting heavier weather in next few days, after a period of lighter winds - no sign of change yet.  All well on board.  Log not working and were trying to decide if making a 2in hole in the hull in mid Atlantic to fix it is a good idea.  The Boss will decide shortly.  Adams bthday cake this evening?  Good news about David's flat, sorry I cant be there to help. Is Sian going with you or looking after Saff? Bye for now Dick

It`s me again. Good run yesterday as above. We`re all getting a bit demob happy at the thought of land only 700 miles away! Got your latest txts which I  think come thru quite quickly. Can`t always reply to them with the urgency they deserve. Glad to hear GB has seen HRH - what chance of getting rid of him? Saw some whales yesterday - first wild life of the trip apart from a solitary gannet,  altho we did give a tiny sparrow like bird a lift for a few hours before he flew off. Only seen three other ships at a distance; its a bit like being in outer space. Food quality diminished yesterday when I tried my hand at spaghetti carbonara with makeshift ingredients. They were all quite polite about it. Hope all OK. Regards as ever to Robert and the rest of the Heath. Mike x.
